Limited Run Games has announced that Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition will launch on December 15, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The release marks a modernized update of the 1999 platformer developed by Whoopee Camp, bringing the sequel back with new features and quality‑of‑life improvements.
The game continues the adventures of Tomba after the events of the first title. It’s described:
Life was a breeze for our hero Tomba, but all that changed in an instant upon the news that the Evil Pigs from the first game had returned to invade a nearby land. Things go from bad to worse upon hearing the news that his friend Tabby had disappeared! Leaping into action, Tomba sets off on an epic quest to find his friend, restore the peace, and teach those pesky pigs a lesson!

The Special Edition includes several additions tailored for modern players:
- A save‑anywhere feature removes reliance on traditional save points.
- A rewind function allows players to retry sections instantly.
- Updated 3D visuals optimized for modern hardware
- New weapons, items, and character costumes
- 137 missions across multiple zones
- A museum mode offers a collection of archival materials such as manuals, promotional art, merchandise photography, and previously unreleased design documents.
- The original Japanese soundtrack, available for the first time in the Western version.
- Supported languages include English, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, and Italian.
