Tensura Movie 2: Tears of the Azure Sea Reveals 9 New Preview Images

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea (Tensura Movie 2) anime film revealed 9 new preview images ahead of its February 27 premiere in Japan. Crunchyroll has the theatrical rights to the movie worldwide (excluding most Asian territories), while MUSE has the rights for Southeast Asia and other Asian regions, with 2026 planned for release.

Fuse wrote the Tensura light novel series starting in 2014, featuring illustrations by Mitz Vah. The novel ended on November 29 last year with the release of Volume 23. The anime is adapting the manga, which is drawn by Taiki Kawakami.

The TV anime adaptation by studio 8bit began in October 2018, with the first season until March 2019. The second season was released through 2 split cours in Winter 2021 and Summer 2021. The third one began in April and concluded with Episode 24 on September 27, 2024.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Scarlet Bond was the first movie for the franchise, and it premiered in 2022. The movie had an original story by the creator Fuse, also featuring the movie-original character called Hiiro.

Season 4 was announced alongside this second film after the conclusion of the third season.Crunchyroll is streaming both the first movie and three TV seasons. It was confirmed for five split cours, with the first one starting on April 3.
