The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter TV anime adaptation by studio Doga Koba (OSHI NO KO) is officially in production, as announced on March 4.
A teaser visual was released to commemorate the announcement.
The creator, Ichi Yukishiro, left a comment alongside a special illustration:
When I received the news that the series would be adapted into an anime, it didn’t feel real and I could hardly process my emotions.
It feels like just yesterday that my editor told me, “The anime is still a long way off, so let’s keep working steadily on the manga,” while reminding me about my deadlines.
Thank you to everyone involved in the anime production, everyone who has worked on the original manga, and all the readers who have supported it.
The anime has been created with great care and passion in every detail. I hope you enjoy it. I’m looking forward to it as well.
The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter (Hone Doragon no Manamusume) is a Japanese manga created by Ichi Yukishiro. The series first started in September 2020 on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi online manga platform, while it moved to the print magazine Monthly Comic Garden in January 2022. J-Novel Club and Seven Seas Entertainment (print) are releasing the manga in English, describing the story:
In the Forest of Scraps, a place where all manner of things are discarded, an old dragon sleeps away his final days—that is, until an abandoned child suddenly appears before him. The tiny human is Eve, and despite being only five years of age, she has somehow endured the many dangers that surround them. In an act of pity, the dragon decides to raise her as his own…but his time is still running out. After five years together, he takes his last breath, leaving his precious daughter on her own. Little does the dragon know, Eve is capable of more than he realizes, and their reunion may be sooner than he thinks… Hoping to improve Eve’s control over her magical abilities before his resurrected body gives out, the skull dragon sets out on an adventure with his reckless human daughter—but who knows what kind of trouble awaits them? (J-Novel Club).
