Medalist sequel anime movie revealed an ‘ultra teaser’ visual and trailer ahead of its 2027 release date. The movie was announced earlier this year, while the news came immediately after the TV anime’s second season concluded on March 22.
The anime adaptation by studio ENGI premiered in January 2025, running for a total of 12 episodes. Season 2 was announced immediately after the finale, running for 9 episodes. The anime is streaming on Disney+ (Disney Plus).

Yasutaka Yamamoto directed the Medalist anime, with Chinatsu Kameyama as the character designer and Jukki Hanada in charge of the series composition and screenplay. You can see the movie’s teaser visual below.

Medalist is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020, and it has eleven compiled volumes as of August 2024. The manga series also won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. Kodansha licensed it in English, and they’ve been releasing it since May 2021.
The story follows Tsukasa, a man whose dreams of competitive skating were shattered, and Inori, a girl determined to make it to the world stage despite starting out late. United by the shared goal, they embark on the difficult journey of figure skating.
