The Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 revealed a new trailer, key visual and voice cast, as well as a July 2026 release date. As previously confirmed, Studio NUT will return to animate the sequel. The announcement was made during KADOKAWA’s panel at AnimeJapan 2026.
Takayuki Yukimoto is directing the sequel, with Kenta Ihara in charge of the series composition and Yuji Hosogoe as the character designer and chief animation director. The first season of the anime premiered in January 2017, while the Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie anime movie was released in Japan in February 2019.
The main voice cast for the anime includes:
- Aoi Yuki as Tanya Degurechaff
- Saori Hayami as Viktoriya Ivanovna “Visha” Serebryakov
- Shinichiro Miki as Erich Rerugen
- Tesho Genda as Kurt von Rudersdorf
- Hochu Otsuka as Hans von Zettour
- Daiki Hamano as Matheus Johann Weiss
- Yusuke Kobayashi as Vooren Grantz

The anime is based on the The Saga of Tanya the Evil novel written by Carlo Zen with illustrations by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It began serialization online in 2010 on the novel publishing website Arcadia before being acquired by Enterbrain in October 2013. Yen Press is releasing the light novel and manga in English.
Crunchyroll is streaming the first season, describing the story:
It is June of the year CE 1923. A young girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Tanya Degurechaff, has entered the final curriculum of the Imperial Military Academy and is training at the third patrol line in the northern military district, the Norden Theater, as part of her service to the force. Her training, the first step toward a brilliant career as an aviation mage, should have gone off without a hitch… but things took an unexpected turn.
