A new officially licensed mobile game based on the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series has been announced. Titled JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit, the game will feature characters from multiple parts of the franchise and is scheduled to begin its first closed beta test (CBT) on May 15, 2026.
Pre-registration for the beta opens today, May 8, with the CBT running from May 15 until May 29. Recruitment for the test is being handled through the official registration page.
The game uses a hybrid 3D and Live2D presentation style to recreate scenes and character animations from the anime adaptation. Developers say the title includes cinematic camera work and episode-style presentation designed to mirror the source material. This can already be previewed in the trailer for the game, which features original music by Yugo Kanno. You can watch it below.
The gameplay will feature real-time combat with a 360-degree free camera system and dynamic angle switching. Both PvE and PvP modes are planned. It will also feature a multi-tile formation system, where character placement affects combat. Certain formations can activate “RUSH” burst attacks to create momentum swings during battles.
Additional systems include character progression mechanics such as upgrades, advancement paths, and equipment development. Social features will include guilds and alliance systems that allow players to participate in co-op missions, boss fights, and reward activities.
According to the press release, details regarding future tests and the full release timeline will be shared through the game’s newly-opened official social media channels, including Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1986 and remains one of longest-running manga franchises. The game is being published by Wanda Cinemas Games, a Beijing-based game company established in 2011. The company focuses on online game development and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Wanda Pictures in 2016. Previous releases from the publisher include Saint Seiya: Legend of Justice and The Legend of Qin.
