Demon Slayer Mugen Train Is Officially The First Japanese Film in History to Make 50 Billion Yen

After 202 days in Japanese theaters, “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” has officially become the first Japanese film in history to surpass the 50 billion yen (US$458.5 million) mark at the worldwide box office. The latest entry in the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise already had its share of success but it just won’t stop. Not only it became the highest-grossing Japanese film worldwide, surpassing “Spirited Away” on its way, it also topped US’ box office on one of the weekends.

What’s more, the movie is set to arrive at digital stores on June 22, 2021. It will be available on platforms such as Apple TV, Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google play, PlayStation Store, and Amazon.

Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the “Mugen Train”, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the “Mugen Train” on track to despair.
