ONE PIECE new anime film is officially covering the God Valley Incident, one of the biggest events in the story. Oda previously teased the new film at Jump Festa 2026, saying it was about something he was sure everyone would be interested in. This will be the 15th movie for the franchise, and it will premiere in Japan in Summer 2027. In addition, a 16th film titled ONE PIECE FILM: BAAD was announced for 2029.
The announcement was made at the very end of the ONE PIECE DAY ’26 event. Earlier on, the final results of the second worldwide character poll were revealed earlier, with Luffy voted as the most popular character. New voice cast for the live-action series was also announced, introducing the actors for Koza, Pell, Toto, and Chaka ahead of Season 3 going into Alabasta.
The God Valley Incident featured the fight where Roger teamed up with Garp to fight against Rocks. The announcement video features the three characters:
The last movie for the franchise was ONE PIECE FILM RED, which premiered in August 2022. The movie grossed over ¥2.25 billion (~$15 million), with 1.57 million attendees in the opening weekend in Japan. That made the biggest opening-weekend numbers when it came to both the audience and earnings among films of 2022. It also quickly became the best-performing film in ONE PIECE‘s history.
The ONE PIECE franchise, created by Eiichiro Oda, is one of the most successful manga and anime series of all time. Since its serialization began in 1997, ONE PIECE has exceeded over 600 million copies in print worldwide. Chapter 1190 was released on August 9. The ONE PIECE anime, animated by Toei Animation, first premiered in 1999 and it entered the Elbaph Arc in April 2026 after a 3-month break.
