The upcoming 10th-anniversary event for the hit series Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day will reveal the characters’ lives 10 years after the ending of the anime took place. The news broke on the event’s official website on Saturday detailing that the reveal will occur during a stage reading. The event will take place in the real-life setting of the anime of Chichibu in Saitama on August 28.
Mari Okada, the original scriptwriter for the series, will also be the scriptwriter for the stage reading. The anniversary site reveals that the original voice-cast will be conducting the reading as well. Meanwhile, Masayoshi Tanaka, the character designer for the series, drew an image to commemorate the Super Peace Busters’ 10-year anniversary.

Anohana aired in 2011 and became a hit with fans across the globe. This eventually led to a manga adaptation and a 2013 movie release. It also received a picture drama that details what the group did shortly after the ending of the series.
Netflix eventually picked up Anohana in 2019, which became one of the most popular anime series on the streaming service. It currently ranks as the 55th most popular anime of all time on MyAnimeList and has become one of A-1 Pictures’ best series. Anohana even ranks as the third-most-popular slice-of-life series of all-time behind Toradora and Mob Psycho 100.
