The upcoming Date A Live IV anime was postponed from October 2021 to 2022. The official website for the series announced it on September 10, 2021. There is still no exact date or month on when the show will actually air. Along with the news the show’s first trailer was also released:
The official Date A LIve IV website did not state the reason for postponing the show’s premiere. Date A Live IV is the fourth season of the Date A Live series. The first season aired in the Spring 2013 season, followed by an OVA in December. The second season aired in Spring 2014 together with an OVA in December, and the third one is in Winter 2019. Each season consists of 12 episodes in total.

Details for Date A Live
Date A Live is a Japanese light novel series written by Kōshi Tachibana. Fujimi Shojo published the novel from March 2011 to March 2020 with a total of 22 volumes. The same author also wrote a light novel titled Date A Live Encore, which consists of a collection of side stories from the original Date A Live series. Yuichiro Higashide is also working on a spin-off light novel series titled Date A Live Fragment: Date A Live Bullet under the supervision of Kōshi Tachibana. It also receive two movie adaptations that aired in 2020 titled Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet and Date A Bullet: Nightmare or Queen.
The anime adaptation of the original novel started airing in 2013. A film adaptation titled Date A Live Movie: Mayuri Judgment directed by Keitaro Motonaga (School Days) also premiered in August 2015. Fumihiko Shimo (Series Composition Golden Time) will be the one directing the fourth installment of the series. Studio GEEK Toys (Date A Bullet) will take care of the show’s production.
April 10. The first day of school. Shido Itsuka is rudely awoken by his personal alarm clock—his little sister.
