Very First Hockey Anime Ever 'Pride of Orange' Reveals New Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming hockey anime series Puraore! Pride of Orange was revealed on Saturday via the series’ official YouTube channel. The series will start airing on October 6, adding yet another must-watch to the Fall 2021 lineup. You can view the latest trailer below.

The series hasn’t necessarily generated the most hype, especially in comparison to other series airing this fall. But a new hockey anime is a breath of fresh air. The series looks to shed light on a sport that is extremely uncommon in the country of Japan. Luckily, hockey is one of the most popular winter sports across the globe. So hopes of drawing in overseas fans might be able to lift this promising series up.

This is now the third trailer released for PuraOre! Pride of Orange. You can see the previous trailer that was released in August below.

Studio: C2C

Studio C2C doesn’t have many big names under their belt. However, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina was a huge hit back in the fall of 2020 while Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- has also grown in popularity over this summer.

Now, C2C looks to make a splash this October with PuraOre! Pride of Orange. The series will be the studio’s first sports series since Harukana Receive, a beach volleyball anime, premiered back in the summer of 2018.

Why You Should Be Hyped

We’ve been seeing an influx of sports anime over the past few years and a lot of that can be credited to the success of hit volleyball anime Haiykuu! There has been plenty of popular baseball and basketball anime. We’ve even received a handful of good boxing anime, Megalo Box being the most recent popular boxing series. But one sport that is non-existent in the world of sports anime is hockey.

Yes, that’s right. PuraOre! Pride of Orange is the very first hockey anime. In fact, if you google “hockey anime” right now, PuraOre! Pride of Orange will be the first and only suggestion that pops up. The series also released a special short video of the members of the Dream Monkey’s hockey team singing and dancing to their hype song.
