The upcoming TV anime adaptation of the Sabikui Bisco (Rust-Eater Bisco) light novel has confirmed a January 2022 release date. Studio OZ is in charge of the production, and they’ve released a new trailer and key visual.

Shiro Saito and Tsuda Kenjiro joined the cast for Sabikui Bisco, which now consists of:
- Ryouta Suzuki as Bisco Akaboshi
- Natsuki Hanae as Milo Nekoyanagi
- Reina Kondou as Paū Nekoyanagi
- Miyu Tomita as Chiroru Ōchagama
- Shiro Saito as Jabi
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Kurokawa
Shinji Cobkubo writes the original light novel, with illustrations by K Akagashi, while Yen Press licensed it in English. They describe the story:
In the far future, a disaster known as the “Rusty Wind” has transformed the majority of Japan into a barren desert and left civilization in tatters. After his teacher falls prey to the rust, the roguish Bisco Akahoshi embarks on journey through the sandy wastes to obtain a mushroom known only as the Rust Eater, rumored to cure the ailment. Together with the dashing young doctor Milo, the pair will have to contend with the unforgiving environment and their fellow wanderers in order to make it back alive.
The Sabikui Bisco anime’s release date is only a few months away, so let’s look forward to January!
