The previously announced The Quintessential Quintuplets movie has confirmed its release date in early Summer 2022. Advance tickets will be available in Japan starting this Friday on October 29, and they’ve released a new visual. It features the Nakano sisters in swimsuits, and you can see it below:
They also posted an announcement video on the official TBS Animation YouTube channel:
The anime previously had 2 TV seasons, both consisting of 12 episodes. Season 2 finished airing on March 26, 2021. The anime series was well liked among our fans, and it ranked as the 5th Best Anime of the Season for Winter 2021. The manga still has more material, which the movie will likely cover. Kodansha licensed the manga in English, and they describe it:
A high school romantic comedy with five times the cute girls! A high school boy must work part-time to help five sisters study so they can graduate, but the only thing these quintuplets have in common is that they all hate studying!
Five girls who want to do anything but study, and their tutor: a high school boy who’s got book smarts and not much else. Futaro Uesugi took the tutoring gig because he was desperate for cash, but when his students—the five beautiful daughters of a wealthy businessman—find five times the excuses to slack off, what can he do?! At this rate, the sisters won’t graduate, so if he wants to get paid, Futaro must think of a plan to suit each of them … Which feels hopeless when five out of five of them think he’s a loser!
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie is yet another rom-com with a 2022 release date. The year is already looking filled with the genre!
