Kana Hanazawa Joins The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Cast as Ost Horai

With the release of the key visual and trailer for The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2, it was also announced that Kana Hanazawa is joining the cast as Ost Horai. The mysterious new character appears in the new trailer for the first time, pleading for Naofumi to kill her. You can watch the new trailer:

Kana Hanazawa also left a comment regarding the new role:

I’ll be voicing Ost, the mysterious woman who claims to be the messenger of the Spirit Turtle.
She appears in a mysterious way, but she also has a cute, pouty side.
Please look forward to how she will be involved with Naofumi and the others!

Kana Hanazawa, voice of Ost Horai in The Rising of the Shield Hero

The voice actress most recently voiced Rika Orimoto in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. Some of her most notable roles include Shiina Mayuri from Steins;gate, Ichika Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets, Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats, Kosaki Onodera from Nisekoi, among others.

It was also confirmed that both the opening and ending theme song artists from season 1 are returning to perform the season 2 theme songs. Madkid is in charge of the opening “Bring Back”, while Chiai Fujikawa is in charge of the ending “Yuzurenai”.

We got to hear Kana Hanazawa as Rika in Jujutsu Kaisen, and we’ll get the chance to hear her in The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 next. The anime will premiere in April 2022.
