The upcoming Blue Thermal anime movie revealed five new character trailers, along with four short promotional videos. Telecom Animation Films is animating the movie which is set to open on March 4, 2022, in Japan.
Masaki Tachibana is directing the Blue Thermal movie, while also working on the script with Natsuko Takahashi. The story is based on a manga by Kana Ozawa and it follows Tamaki Tsuru who joins her university’s gliding club, after playing volleyball throughout her younger years.
Tamaki Tsuru (voiced by Mayu Hotta)
Tamaki is a first-year student member of the Aviation Club at Seonagi University. Also known as Tsurutama, she came to Tokyo from Nagasaki, longing for a normal campus life of circle activities and romance, but a chance encounter leads her to join the Aviation Club. She has an innocent personality and is something of a mood maker.
Jun Kuramochi (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki)
A fourth-year captain of the aviation club at Seonagi University. A genius at flying gliders and an absolute ace, he welcomes Tsurutama to the aviation club and has his eye on her. Although all the other club members envy him, he has a problem he can’t tell anyone about…
Daisuke Soraichi (voiced by Junya Enoki)
He is a second-year student at Aonagi University. He respects Kuramochi and although he is in charge of training the first-year students, he and Tsurutama fight all the time. He is somewhat clumsy and unable to express his feelings honestly.
Chizuru Yano (voiced by Mikako Komatsu)
Fourth-year captain of the aviation club at Hannamikan University, who dislikes her younger sister Tamaki after they had a falling out years ago. Chizuru respects Kuramochi, as they have been fighting in the skies for years.
Akira Asahina (voiced by Daisuke Ono)
An alumnus of the aviation club at Aonagi University, Kuramochi retired from aviation after an injury. In exchange for his support of the aviation club, he makes a “contract” with Kuramochi and demands that he always deliver results.
