The upcoming Toku: Touken Ranbu – Hanamaru – Setsugetsuka trilogy movie revealed a new trailer and the release date. The theatrical screening of the 1st part begins on May 20 while Part 2 and 3 premiere on July 8 and September 1 respectively. Studio Doga Kobo is in charge of the trilogy’s production.

The trilogy film is based on the Touken Ranbu video game franchise which already has a few anime adaptations. The first season of Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru aired during the Fall 2016 season. The second season of the series titled Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru premiered during the Winter 2018 season. Studio Doga Kobo produced both seasons.
The trilogy movie Toku: Touken Ranbu – Hanamaru – Setsugetsuka takes place after the second season of the series. Studio ufotable also announced an upcoming movie titled Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu which is connected to the upcoming trilogy.
