The upcoming Touken Ranbu anime series, Touken Ranbu Kai -Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji-, revealed more additional cast members. The original voice cast from the Touken Ranbu Online web browser game will be reprising their roles for the series. The latest Touken Danshi, or sword boys, who are joining are:

- Atsushi Toshiro voiced by Yamashita Daiki (My Hero Academia‘s Izuku Midoriya)
- Nakigitsune voiced by Asanuma Shintaro (Hypnosis Mic’s Samatoki Aohitsugi)
- Yamatonokami Yasusada voiced by Ichiki Mitsuhiro (My Girlfriend is Shobitch’s Haruka Shinozaki)
- Izuminokami Kanesada voiced by Ryohei Kimura (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’s Alice Asomodeus)
- Aizen Kunitoshi voiced by Seiichiro Yamashita (also one of the main characters of the series, Yagen Toshiro)
- Gokotai Toshiro voiced by Kasuya Yuuta (Saint Seiya’s Andromeda Shun)
- Ishikirimaru voiced by Takahashi Hidenori (Uta no Prince-sama’s Van Kiryuuin)
- Nikkari Aoe voiced by Junji Maijima (Honkai Star Rail’s Dan Heng)
Touken Ranbu Kai -Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji- is based on the 2016 Touken Ranbu stage play adaptation, Touken Ranbu: Kyouden Moyuru Honnouji. Aya Ichikawa is directing the series and Mari Takada is in charge of the character designs. Studio Domerica (Romantic Killer, Seven Knights Revolution: Hero Successor) is in charge of the animation.
The series composition is handled by Kenichi Suemitsu, who was also the original script writer for the 2016 stage play adaptation. Touken Ranbu Kai -Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji- will premiere on April 2, 2024.
Known for its personified historical Japanese swords, Touken Ranbu is a franchise that first started as an online web browser game by DMM and Nitroplus. The game, Touken Ranbu Online, was launched in 2015 and has grown and inspired several anime, musical, and stage play adaptations, live-action movies, and a hack-and-slash game since.
In the game, players play as the Saniwa sage whose mission is to defeat the evil forces known as the Historical Revisionists. To fight them, the Saniwa can bring famous, historical swords to life as Touken Danshi. Players get to summon personified swords, create an army, and fight off the evil forces trying to change history. There are currently over 200 Touken Danshi that players can summon in the game.
