The 16th Seiyu Awards Winners Announced

The winners of the 16th Annual Seiyu Awards have been announced on March 5, 2022. Megumi Ogata won the best leading actress while Kensho Ono took home the best leading actor award. Hiro Shimono also secured the award for Most Valuable Seiyu, which is traditionally chosen by fan votes.

The complete of the winners of this year’s awards is below:

  • Best Leading Actress Award – Megumi Ogata
  • Best Leading Actor Award – Kensho Ono
  • Most Valuable Seiyu Award – Hiro Shimono
  • Best Supporting Actress Award – Mikako Komatsu, Rie Takahashi
  • Best Supporting Actor Award – Fumihiko Tachiki, Yuichi Nakamura
  • Best Rookie Actress Award – Kanata Aikawa, Hikaru Akao, Nene Hieda, Hinaki Yano
  • Best Rookie Actor Award – Aoi Ichikawa, Reiji Kawashima, Gen Sato
  • Best Foreign Film / Drama Award – Taiten Kusunoki, Kanako Tojo
  • Best Singer Award – Soma Saito
  • Personality Award – Takahiro Sakurai
  • Influencer Award – Tomokazu Seki
  • Kei Tomiyama Award – Kenichi Suzumura
  • Kazue Takahashi Award – Junko Iwao
  • Achievement Award – Yoko Asagami, Michihiro Ikemizu
  • Best in Kids/Family Show Award – Kyousei Tsukui 
  • Best Synergy Award – Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
  • Best Cast in a Game Award – Uma Musume Pretty Derby
  • Special Honor Award – Belle

Instead of the special achievement award, the 16th Seiyu Awards paid respect to the voice actors who passed away during the last year (2021). These included:
