The Dawn of the Witch anime is premiering on April 7 and a new trailer that features the fripSide’s opening song “Dawn of Infinity” theme song has been revealed. Studio Tezuka Productions is animating the anime which is based on a light novel by Kakeru Kobashiri. The series is a sequel to the Grimoire of Zero.
In addition to fripSide’s opening theme song, The Dawn of the Witch anime also includes an ending theme by ▽▲TRiNITY▲▽. which is titled “Imprinting“. It is interesting to note that the light novel author Kakeru Kobashiri wrote the lyrics for both songs.
Satoshi Kuwabara is directing the anime and overseeing series composition. Reina Iwasaki is in charge of character designs, while Tatsuhiko Saiki is composing the music.
The Dawn of the Witch light novel has been serialized in Kodansha Lanove Bunko since 2018. The light novel features art by Takashi Iwasaki. A manga adaptation by Tatsuwo has been ongoing since 2019. Kodansha is publishing the light novel in English and describes the plot as:
Saybil is a magic student with no memories of his life before he met a mysterious silver-haired woman in an alley. Now he travels with his teacher, Loux—another student, Holt, and the beastfallen Kudo for “special training”… but this field trip may not be as routine as it seems!
