Eir Aoi to Perform the Theme Song for Sword Art Online: Progressive - Scherzo of Deep Night

The theme song for the upcoming Sword Art Online: Progressive Scherzo of Deep Night- movie will be performed by the Japanese singer Eir Aoi. The title of the song is “Shinzo“, which means “Heart” in English. The anime film will premiere on September 10, 2022, in Japan.

Eir Aoi also performed the second opening of the original Sword Art Online anime series, titled “INNOCENCE” and the third OP, titled “IGNITE“. She also performed the first ending song of Sword Art Online: Alicization, titled “IRIS“, as well as the second ending song for Sword Art Online: Alicization -War of Underworld-, titled “I Will“. The theme song for the movie Sword Art Online: Extra Edition titled “Niji no Oto“, was also performed by Eir Aoi.

Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- is the sequel to the Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night- anime film. Studio A-1 Pictures is animating the movie, with Ayako Kono as the director. The story is about the events that were not included in the Aincrad arc of the original Sword Art Online anime series because of the time skip.

Sword Art Online: Progressive is a Japanese light novel series by Reki Kawahara/ ASCII Media Works started publishing it in 2013, with abec’s illustrations, and it currently has 8 volumes available. The movie will start at volume 4 of the light novel series. Yen Press licensed the Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series and describes the plot of volume 4 as:

It’s been just two months since they were trapped in the game of death that is Sword Art Online, and Kirito and Asuna continue their struggle at the vanguard of progress through the game. The fifth floor of Aincrad is a mazelike ruin, and the two dare to take pleasure in raiding it for the treasure it contains.
