The upcoming Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- anime film has received the second trailer. The movie will premiere on September 10, 2022, in Japan. You can watch the video below:

The theme song for Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- is titled “Shinzo“, and will be performed by Eir Aoi. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu are returning to voice Kirito and Asuna. Shiori Izawa will also reprise her role as Argo, who first appeared in episode 3 of the original Sword Art Online anime series.
Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- is the second film installment of the SAO Progressive light novel series. A-1 Pictures is animating it, while Ayako Kono is directing. The same director and studio also worked on the first movie, titled Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night-. It premiered on October 31, 2022, in IMAX theatres nationwide in Japan. The film also premiered in more than 40 countries around the world.
ASCII Media Works has been serializing Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series since 2012, and it currently has 8 volumes available. The movie will adapt the fourth volume of the light novel series. Yen Press is publishing the Sword Art Online: progressive light novel series in English. The movie will cover the events from the 4th volume and you can read the synopsis below:
