Classroom of the Elite Season 2 released a preview trailer and images for episode 2 along with the title and synopsis. The second episode is scheduled for July 11.
The title of the episode quotes a phrase from Betrachtungen über Sünde, Leid, Hoffnung und den wahren Weg by Franz Kafka, for which the translation reads Reflection on Sin, Agony, Hope and True Path: “Es gibt zwei menschliche Hauptsunden, aus welchen sich alle andern ableiten: Ungeduld und Lassigkeit.” which translates into “There are two main human sins from which all the others derive: impatience and indolence.“
The newly released preview images show some of the main characters: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Suzune Horikita, Rokusuke Koenji, Kakeru Ryuen, Kei Karuizawa, and Yosuke Hirata.
Classroom of the Elite Season 2‘s first episode introduced their new test which began out of nowhere during their summer break and synopsis of episode 2 is:
The test “Thinking” ended the first day. While Ayanokoji was talking with people including Hirata over ideas to break through the deadlock, his phone received a mail, whose content irritated Horikita. Ayanokoji, in the meantime, felt something strange in Karuizawa’s behavior and asked Horikita about her information…
Shogo Kinugasa returns to write the scripts for the preview trailers. The 52-second long video posted on Kadokawa’s official YouTube channel starts with Suzune Horikita’s narration with the opening song “Dance in the Game” by ZAQ. She mentions that her classmates are trying to overcome the special exam and that Kei Karuizawa’s worsening situation, which Ayanokoji decides to observe. After she finishes introducing the next episode’s plot, Kikyo Kushida appears and describes the preview as “even though the series is animated for the first time in 5 years, it’s a dull and boring preview for the next episode, isn’t it, Horikita-san?” and Horikita replied asking if Kushida could do it better. And so the anime will have a preview trailer with Kushida next.
Shogo Kinugasa writes Classroom of the Elite light novel series with art by Shunsaku Tomose. The novel currently consists of two parts, Year 1 and Year 2. Classroom of the Elite Season 2 is covering Year 1. Studio Lerche is animating.
