The previously announced Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni movie revealed a teaser trailer, ahead of the scheduled 2023 spring premiere in Japan. Studio MADHOUSE is animating the movie. Fumi Tsubota is writing the screenplay.
In addition to the teaser trailer, Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni anime adaptations also revealed the main cast. Kento Kaku is voicing Naranbayar, while Minami Hamabe is the princess Sarah.
Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni manga by Nao Iwamoto began serialization in Shogakukan’s josei Flowers magazine in October 2014. It ended in April 2016, and its 8 chapters have been compiled into one volume. The manga tells the story of two neighboring countries that were always at odds with one another, even going as far as to settle things in the most trivial ways possible. One day, fate has it that a princess by the name of Sarah meets a young man named Naranbayar, who comes from the opposing country. The two bond over a common goal. The story explores themes of arranged marriage, politics, and romance. As a josei manga, the audience is mainly young adult female readers.
