Voice Actress Aoi Yuki Tests Positive for COVID-19

Voice actress Aoi Yuki, known for her roles as Madoka Kaname (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) and Tanya von Degurechaff (The Saga of Tanya the Evil), tested positive for COVID-19, her talent agency Aoni Production revealed on July 29. Yuki Aoi is currently voicing Mabel in Uncle from Another World and Mami Nanami in Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 this season.

The agency says Aoi Yuki felt unwell on July 28 and tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day. She is resting at home in accordance with the health center’s guidance.

I’d appreciate it if you could take a look at the voice agency’s announcement,” the voice actress updated her Twitter account with a screenshot of the statement on July 29: “I apologize to everyone involved for causing trouble and worry. I will concentrate on my recovery in order to return soon and resume working together.

The 30 year-old actress also expressed a message to her fans likewise in a follow-up tweet: “And also, I’m terribly sorry to all of you who have always supported me for causing worry. I will fully recover in the resting period given, and I will deliver many contents you can enjoy again. What’s more, I’d like you to take care of yourselves as well.

Aoi Yuki was born in 1992 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Over the years she has voiced a number of fan-favorite characters, including Tsuyu Asui from the My Hero Academia series, Diane in The Seven Deadly Sins, and Yuki Konno in the Sword Art Online franchise. In addition to anime, she also does voice acting in video games and is known as Lumine from Genshin Impact.
