Trigun Stampede Reveals New Piece of Concept Art by Koji Tajima

Trigun Stampede’s original character designer, Koji Tajima, is behind the newest piece of concept art for the upcoming anime series. CGI studio Orange (BEASTARSLand of the Lustrous) is animating the newest part of the Trigun franchise, which is scheduled to premiere in 2023.

Trigun Stampede – Concept Art 2

The anime recently revealed the first trailer, along with a key visual. The cast for the series will include:

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuok as Vash
  • Tomoyo Kurosawa as Young Vash
  • Junya Ikeda as Knives Millions
  • Yumiri Hanamori as Young Knives
  • Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem

Kenji Muto is directing, with the aforementioned Koji Tajima on character concepts. The series is based on Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga series, first serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s shonen manga magazine Monthly Shonen Captain from April 1995 to January 1997. The manga was later moved to Shonen Gahosha’s seinen manga magazine Young King OURs, under the title Trigun Maximum, where it stayed from October 1997 to March 2007.

Dark Horse licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
On the forbidding desert world of Gunsmoke, a mysterious bounty hangs above the head of Vash the Stampede, and the gunslinging pacifist can’t seem to find a moment’s respite. Vash is no ordinary pistolero, packing a weapon capable of punching holes in a planet, which explains why the locals tremble at the very mention of his name. But sixty billion double dollars is no ordinary reward, and every trigger-happy psycho in creation is aiming to claim Vash dead or alive—preferably dead!
