Overlord IV (Season 4) is back this week with episode 8, which is set to air on Tuesday, August 23. As always, two English-subtitled preview videos have been revealed: one is narrated by Ainz (who is voiced by Satoshi Hino) while the other is a special version narrated by a character who will have a prominent role in the episode. This week the character in question is Philip Dayton L’Eyre Montserrat, who is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka.
The episode is titled “An Unexpected Move” and it will focus on the aftermath of the previous arc. Ainz is enjoying the newfound peace as dwarves and dragons are working, but he gets unexpected news as Philip seems to be plotting something.
Naoyuki Ito is directing the Overlord Season 4 (Overlord IV) anime, with Satoshi Tasaki on character designs. Yukie Sugawara is overseeing the series composition and also writing the screenplay.
The Overlord anime series is based on light novels written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. The first season of the anime adaptation aired in 2015. Season 2 and season 3 both aired during 2018, with studio MADHOUSE animating. Two recap movies by MADHOUSE were also released along the way. A new movie that will cover “The Paladin of the Sacred Kingdom” arc recently revealed a teaser visual. It is titled Overlord: Holy Kingdom.
