Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement anime revealed a new trailer ahead of January 7, 2023 premiere date. The trailer features the opening theme song “Hikatta Coin ga Shimesu Hou” by Kaori Maeda. Teaser trailer for the anime was revealed in October,
Kenyu Horiuchi is joining the cast as the mysterious cat who gave Mitsuha her powers. The main cast for the anime includes:
- Rika Nagae as Mitsuha Yamano
- Rika Tachibana as Colette
- Kaori Maeda as Sabin

The anime is based on FUNA’s Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement (Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-manmai no Kinka wo Tamemasu) novel, which was originally published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website and then later picked up by Kodansha and published in print version in Ranobe Books imprint with Tozai’s illustrations. A manga adaptation by Keisuke Motoe has been ongoing in Monthly Shonen Sirius since 2017.
Sol Press originally licensed the series in English before going down and losing the rights. It was their first manga license. The light novel was picked up by Kodansha US earlier this year. The English release date still hasn’t been finalized, but Kodansha describes the plot as:
One day, Mitsuha falls off a cliff and is transported to a medieval Europe–type world! After a near-death encounter with a pack of wolves, she then realizes that she’s able to transport between two worlds—this one and her own. Taking advantage of this ability, Mitsuha decides to live in both worlds and calculates that she’ll need 80,000 gold coins to be able to retire! Mitsuha now has to come up with different ways to collect her gold coins!
