December 2022 Anime and Manga News Highlights: Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc and More

December of 2022 was a month full of news from big shows thanks to Jump Festa 2022, which was held between December 17 and 18. As a matter of fact, our wrap-up article on the two-day events was the second-most viewed article. But it doesn’t mean no other articles caught the attention of readers. Here are some of the articles that caught your eye and that were among the top read in the last month.

The third most-read article went to yet another action anime series: international release dates for currently-screening That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond. The film adaptation premiered on November 25 in Japan, and the movie is coming to the United Kingdom and Ireland on January 18 (the earliest international premiere), followed by January 19 Australian premiere.

Manga News

Although no manga announcements were found in the list of popular articles, our coverage of two manga artists’ posts on Twitter were fairly read.

Kotoyama, the author of the ongoing Call of the Night manga, posted a photo of a 1/7 scale figure for Nazuna Nanakusa, created based on the creator’s newly drawn illustration and with his supervision. The tweet came with a cheerful caption “Wooowww” and the post has garnered 46.4 thousand likes on the platform.

The other artist in this category was, Shun Saeki, known as the artist of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga. His tweet was a fanart of sorts: it was an illustration of Hitori Goto from Bocchi the Rock! anime. It was posted days after the broadcast of the final episode, on December 28, and yet the article made our readers curious.

Miku Ito, best known as the voice actress of Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets franchise, released a comment on Twitter after a Japanese tabloid Bunshun reported about her private life.
