Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5 has officially been confirmed and will premiere in July 2023. The announcement also included a promotional video and a special visual drawn by character designer and chief animation director, Nobuhiro Arai.
Congratulatory comments from the original author Asagiri Kafka and illustrator Sango Harukawa (Harukawa35) were also revealed. The authors expressed their gratitude for the fans’ love and support, as well as for sticking out on the long roller coaster ride of their story.

Season 5 will begin with the finale of Bungo Stray Dogs Volume 18 and the beginning of Volume 19 of the manga. Yen Press describes the plot:
Scattered and alone, the members of the Armed Detective Agency disappear one by one as Kamui, the leader of the Decay of the Angel, seeks to eliminate them once and for all! But Atsushi and the others aren’t out of the fight just yet. As they piece together allies and information in preparation for a counterattack, the return of a familiar face brings hope that they may be able to turn their desperate situation around! However long the night, the dawn will break—the agency’s revival is at hand!

Bungo Stray Dogs is based on a manga created by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It follows the story of a young man named Atsushi Nakajima who saves Osamu Dazai from a suicide attempt. He eventually learns that Dazai is a member of the “Armed Detective Agency,” and joins him. There, Atsushi discovers that the detective agency is staffed by individuals with supernatural abilities, solving mysteries and carrying out missions around Yokohama. Studio Bones is handling the animation of the series. The recent fourth season had a total of 13 episodes.
