I’m in Love with the Villainess anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by Inori with illustrations by Hanagata. It was originally published on Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2018 then Ichijinsha acquired it at a later date with 5 volumes in total. A manga adaptation illustrated by Anoshimo launched in June 2020 and it currently has 5 volumes with the 6th set to release on May 17.
Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the light novel in English and they describe the plot as:
Ordinary office worker Ohashi Rei wakes up in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. To her delight, the first person to greet her is also her favorite character, Claire Francois—the main antagonist of the story! Now, Rei is determined to romance Claire instead of the game’s male leads. But how will her villainous ladylove react to this new courtship?!
