OSHI NO KO has reclaimed the top spot in our weekly anime ranking, overtaking Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc in week 6. It’s the show’s 4th win this season, after previously hogging the rank for 3 straight weeks. 17,271 people voted, and it took 7.75% of the votes. Behind the two was Loving Yamada at Lv999, which jumped 3 spots. The biggest jumps came from The Dangers in My Heart and Insomniacs After School, both of which entered the top 10. Top 10 Anime of the Week 6 | Spring 2023 – OSHI NO KO Tops Ranking For 4th Time
OSHI NO KO anime is based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). It is animated by studio Doga Kobo, with Daisuke Hiramaki as the director and Saori Tachibana as the assistant director. Kanna Hirayama is adapting the character designs from the manga, while YOASOBI performs the opening song titled “Idol”. Rie Takahashi voices the popular idol Ai Hoshino.
The anime is streaming exclusively on HiDIVE, and they describe the story:
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
