The official Twitter account for OSHI NO KO has announced that the TV anime will have a special broadcast on May 31, so episode 8 will premiere on June 7 instead. This was announced following the premiere of episode 7, and the special program will recap the story so far and feature the voice actors of Aqua and Ruby, Takeo Ootsuk and Yurie Igoma. The official announcement:
OSHI NO KO anime is based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). It is animated by studio Doga Kobo, with Daisuke Hiramaki as the director and Saori Tachibana as the assistant director. Kanna Hirayama is adapting the character designs from the manga, while YOASOBI performs the opening song titled “Idol”. Rie Takahashi voices the popular idol Ai Hoshino.
The anime is streaming exclusively on HiDIVE, and they describe the story:
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
