Heat the Pig Liver anime is killing time until the premiere with a new campaign of fun facts about, you guessed it, pigs. The first fun fact is dedicated to the speed of pigs, who are apparently faster than one might think, according to a professor from Azabu University. Along with the fun fact, a new visual was revealed:
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito in Sword Art Online, Inosuke in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) will be voicing the titular Pig, while Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) is voicing Jess.
The Buta no Liver (Heat the Pig Liver: The Story of a Man Turned Into a Pig) story is based on an isekai light novel written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Tohsaka. The light novel began serialization in 2020, and a manga adaptation is currently ongoing as well.
The plot follows an unappealing otaku who reincarnates as a pig, after passing out while eating raw pig liver. In the new world, he meets Jess, a girl who can read minds. Jess accepts him for who he is, but she does plan on eating him eventually. However, she is in danger, and Pig is the only one who can save her while using his new skillset which includes a refined sense of smell.
