With the upcoming Cygames x Kentucky Derby partnership, Japan’s famed horse girls are coming to the US! The recently announced partnership will happen on May 2 and 3 at the 151 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky.
Cygames X Kentucky Derby Partnership Details
As part of the partnership, Cygames is sponsoring the ‘Unbridled Sidney Stakes’ — a 1,100 (5 ½ furlong) Grade III race. The race is open for any qualifying filly and mare over the age of three and features a $400,000 purse.
The Unbridled Sidney Stakes race is scheduled on Kentucky Oaks Day on Friday, May 2, at 1:44 p.m. As part of the Cygames x Kentucky Derby partnership, Cygames branding (logo) will be featured in the race’s starting gates, on contending horses’ saddle towels, and at the finishing line.
A 360° Cygames photo and game table booth will be available on both days of the event, opening at 9 a.m. each day. Attendees can look forward to enjoying the following games:

- Grandblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
- Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond
- Uma Musume: Pretty Derby
Cygames’ president, Koichi Watanabe, commented on the Cygames x Kentucky Derby partnership by stating,
“The Kentucky Derby has a long and prestigious history as the first of the races that make up the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, and I consider it a great joy for Cygames to be a sponsor. Kentucky Derby/Triple Crown Details
Boasting the distinction of being the oldest continuously running sporting event in the USA, the Kentucky Derby, and the Kentucky Oaks have run since 1875. Billed as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports®,” the Kentucky Derby is one of the three events that make up the “Triple Crown.” The race takes place on the first Saturday of May and kicks off the Triple Crown series.
The Triple Crown’s second race, the Preakness Stakes, is usually held on the third Saturday in May. The race takes place at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. The final leg of the series, the Belmont Stakes, takes place at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.
