The streaming schedule for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will change beginning with Episode 47, resulting in the episode arriving on September 8 for numerous platforms.
Until now, new episodes on the affected streaming services began rolling out every Sunday at 12:00 JST. Starting with Episode 47, releases will instead begin every Tuesday at 18:00 JST.
The change applies in Japan to subscription services including Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, U-NEXT, d Anime Store, ABEMA, DMM TV, FOD, Lemino and others. Transactional streaming platforms are also affected.
The announcement concerns the Japanese streaming schedule. It does not state that the TV broadcast schedule is changing, and it does not mean international Disney+ or Hulu release times will also be affected. VIZ Media announced that Episode 47 is streaming on Hulu and Disney+, and it’s likely that the future episodes will still keep their current schedule.
Some viewers had reported that the episode was not yet available on Disney+ at the time of VIZ’s announcement, but it was confirmed to be an availability issue as it began streaming quickly afterwards.
AVOD services will continue on their existing schedule as well.
Created by Tite Kubo, BLEACH was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016 and concluded with 74 volumes. The manga has exceeded 130 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
The original anime adaptation aired from 2004 to 2012 and received four theatrical films. The franchise returned in 2022 with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, adapting the manga’s final arc. Its final part (Part 4) is set to release in July. Tite Kubo has confirmed it will include even more original material than the previous parts, expanding the manga’s final battles.
On a related note, BLEACH: Mirrors High opened pre-registrations last month, with the game set to launch in 2026.
