The previously announced A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration unveiled a new trailer featuring two additional cast members on Sunday during Anime Japan 2024. Azumi Waki and Mayu Sagara are joining the cast as Haruka Katsuragi and Luceria, respectively. Both voice actresses also accompanied Yuya Hozumi and Kana Hanazawa (who are voicing the main characters) at the anime’s stage event. The anime premieres this July.
Studio GEKKOU is animating the series with Tomoki Kobayashi as the director. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is in charge of the series composition while Shoko Yasuda is designing the characters and Keiji Inai is composing the music. Yuya Hozumi voices Kaito Takagi and Kana Hanazawa plays the role of Sylphy.
The anime will adapt the Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyutan light novel series, written by Kaito and illustrated by Almic. The series started as a web novel in 2019, before being acquired by Hobby Japan in 2021. A manga adaptation with art by Terio Teri is currently ongoing.
The plot follows the story of Kaito Takagi, an ordinary student who is set in a routine life as an explorer in the dungeons that had manifested across Japan. His daily pursuit involves slaying slimes, a means to earn some pocket money, all while secretly harboring admiration for his childhood friend, the esteemed class queen. However, his mundane routine takes an unexpected turn when a previously unseen golden slime emerges before him. Upon defeating this unique adversary, Kaito stumbles upon a remarkably rare item of immense value – a servant card capable of summoning mythical beings. As he decides to summon a mythical creature using the card, a warrior maiden of unparalleled beauty materializes, altering the course of Kaito’s existence.
