A Wild Last Boss Appeared revealed the first main trailer ahead of its October 2025 release date. Studio WAO World is animating, with Yuya Horiuchi as the director. The anime previously revealed a teaser visual to introduce members of the Twelve Heavenly Stars.
The opening theme song is “Level o Agete Butsuri de Naguru” by Kisida Kyodan & The Akebosi Rockets. You can watch the new trailer below.

Firehead writes the A Wild Last Boss Appeared (Yasei no Rasu Bosu ga Arawareta) light novel series, which features illustrations by YahaKo. It first began on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in October 2015, with Earth Star Entertainment publishing a print edition under their Earth Star Novel imprint from February 2016. Both ended on April 15, 2019.
There is also a manga adaptation by Tsubasa Hazuki, which began serialization on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in June 2017 and is currently ongoing. J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga in English.
The story follows a man who wakes up in the body of his MMO character, Lufas Maphaahl, the feared Black-Winged Tyrant and leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars, 200 years after her defeat in a player-driven event of the game Exgate Online. But this is no longer a game, but rather it’s reality. With her reign long past and her name remembered only in fear, Lufas now navigates a different world, looking for answers, allies, and a way to confront the chaos and monsters that her “death” left behind.
