Akane-banashi Season 2 anime has been officially announced following the finale of the first season. It is set to premiere in January 2027. A new teaser trailer and voice cast were also announced. Season 2 will adapt the Apprentice Training Arc, which will have Akane graduate from high school and officially enter the rakugo world as a disciple of Shiguma Arakawa under the stage name Akane Arakawa.
The new voice cast includes:

- Hiroshi Naka as Enso Sanmeitei
- Mutsumi Tamura as Urara Ransaika

Akane-banashi anime is based on a manga series written by Yuki Suenaga and illustrated by Takamasa Moue. The series also features rakugo supervision by professional performer Kikuhiko Hayashiya. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since February 2022. Suenaga drew a special commemorative illustration for Season 2:
