The previously announced Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family anime revealed a new trailer featuring additional voice cast, the opening theme song, and an October 5 premiere date on Monday. ZAQ is performing the opening theme song titled “Dramatic Overlay,” and the additional voice cast consists of:
- Rika Nagae as Makina
- Hinako Yano as Neon
Studio Flad (Banished from the Hero’s Party) is animating the series with Yasuhiro Minami (Raven of the Inner Palace episode director) as the director. Yukie Sugawara (Overlord, Tougen Anki) is writing the series composition, and Mika Yamamoto (Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising-) is designing the characters.
The main voice cast consists of:
- Hika Tsukishiro as Alma
- Ryota Suzuki as Enji Kamisato
- M・A・O as Suzume Yobane
The anime is adapted from the manga series written and illustrated by Nanateru. It was serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Newtype website from July 2021 to February 2024. A sequel manga titled Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family Z began serialization on the same website in July 2024.
The story follows the “girl-type” weapon Alma-chan and the two genius scientists who created her, Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane.
