The anime adaptation of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will premiere July 1 with a one-hour-long special episode. Studio Liden Films is animating the series, and a new trailer for the anime has been released, which you can watch below:
Additionally, the production committee has arranged for a limited edition postcard distribution event on Saturday, June 24 at Sofmap AKIBA Amusement Hall 1F storefront, from 4 pm until stocks run out. Attendance is free, but supply is limited, so be sure to attend if you want one of the special goodies!
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is based on the Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG) of the same name, developed by Gust and published by Koei Tecmo. It was initially released in Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows platforms in September 2019, with a worldwide release in November 2019.
The game is described online as:
“Atelier Ryza” is about a girl and her friends on the verge of adulthood, discovering what’s most important to them.
It is the story of a girl and her friends who are about to become adults, discovering what is most important to them.
To depict the story of the main characters discovering things they’ve never seen before, we’ve created fields with natural shadows that allow you to feel the breath of the world. Graphics have been further enhanced, allowing for a world of daily-life and adventure to be depicted in a new way.
Atelier Ryza is part of the overarching Atelier gaming franchise, which currently has twenty-four main installments. The next release in the franchise will be Atelier Marie Remake, a modern, high-definition remake of the original 1997 game that first launched the franchise. Atelier Marie Remake launches July 13 for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
