Attack on Titan Anime To Mark 10th Anniversary This Year

Attack on Titan anime is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The anime premiered in April 2013. A special promotional video that features “Barricades” from the second’s season OST is now available:

The 10 year anniversary will be celebrated with a number of collabs, activities, releases of animated music videos for the opening and ending themes, and a big event on January 27-28, 2024 in K-Arena Yokohama. A special tree-planting event in Hajime Isayama’s hometown of Oyama (now a part of Hiita) in Oita Prefecture will also take place later this year. TThe information was revealed during AnimeJapan 2023 stage, attended by the main cast – Yuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, and Marina Inoue. Chiaki Matsuzawa hosted the stage.

Attack on Titan is based on a manga series by Hajime Isayama serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. The manga ended in April of 2021 after 139 chapters, which were compiled into 34 volumes. The final, 34th volume came out in June 2021. The manga received an anime adaptation by WIT Studio in 2013. Season 2 came in 2017, followed by the third season which was split into two cours. The first cour aired in the summer of 2018, while the second one started in April of 2019. Studio MAPPA took over the franchise for the 4th season, which was titled Attack on Titan Final Season. It started airing in December of 2020 and had a total of 16 episodes. It ended in March of 2021 and the second part started in January of last year. After the final episode in March, the big final project was announced. It ended up getting split into two parts, the first of which aired this March. Crunchyroll licensed it as Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 1. The second part is coming this fall.
