Attack on Titan: The Last Attack Announces 'Crying Screening' Event Where Fans Are Allowed to Cry

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack has announced a ‘crying screening’ event, which will include screenings where fans are allowed to cry. There will be nine participating theaters in Japan, with the screenings schedule to take place on December 4 and December 11. They encourage fans to bring tissues or handkerchiefs for those screenings. In addition, visitors at those screenings will get a key visual sticker.

Besides the usual notes such as no photography or recording, some additional ones for the Attack on Titan: The Last Attack crying screening event include:

  • This screening may not be suitable for those who wish to watch the movie in silence.
  • This is not a cheering-style screening, so please refrain from bringing light sticks, penlights, or other items that may disturb the viewing experience. Also, shouting or cheering is not permitted.
  • Only crying is allowed during the main screening. Please refrain from any other forms of vocalization.
  • Bringing tissues or handkerchiefs is recommended.

While crying is not really prohibited at regular screenings, this event is meant more to encourage it and to allow fans to express their emotions without worry of social norms or embarrassment.

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack – Anime Trailer

The Attack on Titan: The Last Attack theatrical release is a compilation of the Final Chapters specials, and it features improved cuts and 5.1ch surround sound. Fans in Japan have praised the movie, with many opting to watch it multiple times. The screening period got extended following the success.

Yuichiro Hayashi is the movie’s director, with series composition by Hiroshi Seko and character design by Tomohiro Kishi. The main voice cast includes:

Studio MAPPA handled the animation for Attack on Titan from Season 4 onward, taking over WIT Studio that was in charge of the first three seasons. The anime adapted the manga by Hajime Isayama, which ran in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from September 2009 until April 2021. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for an English release.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, including Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS. They describe the story:
