The upcoming anime adaptation of BLACK TORCH, based on the manga by Tsuyoshi Takaki, has officially announced its main voice cast with a character trailer. The series first announced the anime adaptation back in March, surprising with its return following the manga’s cancellation in 2018.
The main voice cast includes:
- Ryota Suzuki as Azuma Jiro, a high schooler trained as a ninja who can talk to animals.
- Yoji Ueda as Rago, a legendary mononoke once feared as the “Black Calamity Star.”
- Sayaka Senbongi as Ichika Kishimojin, a serious and justice-driven agent of Black Torch.
- Junya Enoki as Reiji Kirihara, a calm and logical new recruit who often clashes with Jiro.

BLACK TORCH originally ran in Jump Square, a monthly magazine published by Shueisha, from February 2017 to April 2018. It later shifted to the Shonen Jump+ digital platform, where it continued until wrapping up in July 2018. The story has a total of 19 chapters, which were compiled into a total of five volumes. The English license was acquired by VIZ Media, with the first volume released on August 7, 2018.
