The upcoming Blue Lock: Episode Nagi movie revealed seven new character visuals ahead of the April 19 premiere in Japan. The visuals are “egoist” editions and each character has a specific aura in them. The following characters are featured:
- Seishiro Nagi
- Reo Mikage
- Yoichi Isagi
- Hyoma Chigiri
- Rensuke Kunigami
- Meguru Bachira
- Rin Itoshi (Kouki Uchiyama)
Studio 8bit, which animated the first season of the TV anim that premiered in October 2022 and ran for 24 episodes, is returning for the movie. Shunsuke Ishikawa will be directing, with Taku Kishimoto on the series composition and original author Muneyuki Yaneshiro on story composition. Jun Murayama is composing the music.
Episode Nagi will be adapt the prequel manga to the Blue Lock series. The preview, written by Muneyeki Kaneshiro features art by Kota Sannomiya and Yusuke Nomura’s character designs, was licensed by Kodansha USA in English. It is currently being serialized on K MANGA app, with print release slated for this fall. The plot is described as:
Seishiro Nagi, a second-year high schooler, thought everything was a pain and lived his life in an apathetic fog. That is, until he met Reo Mikage and they entered the mysterious striker training center, Blue Lock… A new spin-off from Blue Lock’s author, Muneyuki Kaneshiro, telling the story from Nagi’s point of view!
In addition to the Nagi movie, the TV anime is also getting a second season.
