Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 has been officially announced. Studio BONES is producing the anime. A teaser visual is also available.
Takuya Igarashi is directing the sequel, while Youjo Enokido is writing the screenplay and doing series composition. Both Igarashi and Enokido worked on the previous seasons. Nobuhiro Arai is doing character designs and is also chief animation director for Bungo Stray Dogs season 4.

Yoji Enokido and Nobuhiro Arai commented on the news. Enokido asks the fans to look forward to the “unprecedented” situation the characters will find themselves in. Arai thanked everyone for their support, saying that it is not often that an animator gets to work on a series of this caliber.
Cast also commented on the season 4 announcement. Mamoru Miyano, who voices Dazai, thanked the fans for the support and said that he was looking forward to voicing his “favorite Dazai” again. Sumire Morohoshi (Koyka Izumi) expressed excitement about the new season, while Kensho Ono (Ryuunosuke) remarked at how fast his character was growing. Kisho Taniyama (Nakaya) said that he hopes to see more of his character in the new season.
Bungo Stray Dogs Franchise
Bungo Stray Dogs is based on a manga by Kafka Asagiri, with Hirukawa35 illustrations. Serialization started in 2012 in Young Ace magazine with Yen Press holding the English license. Anime adaptation aired in Spring of 2016, with season 2 following in the Fall of the same year. Season 3 aired in 2019. The franchise also has a movie titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, as well as an OVA Bungo Stray Dogs: Walking Alone from 2017. A live-action movie is also in the works.
Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the “Armed Detective Agency” said to solve incidents that even the military and police won’t touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that’s been terrorizing the population… In the virtual city of Yokohama are individuals bearing the name of Bungo, “literary masters,” who possess unusual powers likened to that name. Now begins the battle between the mysterious Bungo powers!
