Call of the Night Season 2 revealed a new key visual for the Cigarette Case arc, along with a July 4 premiere date and Maaya Uchida joining the voice cast. HIDIVE confirmed that the anime will arrive to the platform in July.

Maaya Uchida will voice Haru Nanakusa, who is described as:
A nurse who cared for both Nazuna and Kabura.
She appears in a photograph with Kabura from when Kabura is believed to have still been human, and is a woman connected to Kabura’s past.
Studio LIDENFILMS is back to animate Call of the Night Season 2. Tomoyuki Itamura is the director, with Mao Miyoshi and Izumi Takizawa as assistant directors. The rest of the main staff includes Michiko Yokote in charge of the script, Haruka Sagawa as the character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa as the music composer.
The main voice cast includes:
- Sora Amamiya as Nazuna Nanakusa
- Gen Sato as Ko Yamori
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Anko Uguisu
- Yumiri Hanamori as Akira Asai
- Haruka Tomatsu as Seri Kikyo
- Shizuka Ito as Kabura Honda
- Yoko Hikasa as Kiyosumi Shirakawa
- Azumi Waki as Hatsuka Suzushiro
- Rina Sato as Kiku Hoshimi
The anime is based on the manga by Kotoyama and it was named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, “Yofukashi no Uta.” The band performed both the opening and ending songs for Season 1, which were titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta” respectively. The manga ended in January 2024 with a total of 200 chapters. Viz Media publishes the manga in English, describing the story:
“One night, sleepless Yamori slips out of his home to walk the streets of his town. Life after dark is a revelation! Especially when he meets flirtatious Nanakusa… She’s a lot more fun to share the night with than old drunks on park benches. When she invites him to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them…“
