There is also an ongoing manga adaptation of Year 1 by Yuyu Ichino. Classroom of the Elite Year 1 Official Guidebook was released on November 25.

The anime adaptation by Lerche has released 3 seasons between 2017 and March 2024. Season 4 is currently in production, with the studio not yet confirmed. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga adaptations in English, while Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.

The story follows the genius Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, who enrolled at a prestigious highschool that has a 100% rate of its students going on to become successful. He aims to be as average as possible in the problematic Class 1-D, which is full of the school’s problem children. However, that’s not going to go as he planned, as his talents slowly become noticed and his history will not leave him alone.
