Japanese tech and media company CyberAgent has announced a brand-new original anime project titled Project M. The reveal took place during Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, one of the largest anime conventions in North America.
A mysterious teaser visual was displayed at the event, featuring a close-up of a character’s eye showing a buttefly. While no other details have been released so far, CyberAgent confirmed that more updates on Project M will be shared gradually through their official social media channels.
In January 2025, the company officially launched a production subsidiary, a new anime studio called CA Soa, which is led by renowned anime producer Masakazu Ogawa, known for his work with Sunrise on the Gundam series. CA Soa’s goal is to “create globally recognized, high-quality anime with fresh production methods.” Back then, CyberAgent also stated that it was betting big on the growth of the Japanese anime market.
In a recent interview with CyberAgent executive Takahiro Yamauchi, he explained to Anime Corner that the company is building a unified production pipeline, from original planning to global promotion, designed to maximize the creative and commercial potential of in-house studios like CA Soa.
