Cygames’ international partnerships have finally reached Latin America. The video game publisher has entered a sponsorship agreement with the Organización Sudamericana de Fomento del Pura Sangre de Carreras (OSAF). Through the agreement, Cygames, Inc. will support various OSAF activities and sponsor the G1 Gran Premio Latinoamericano.
Cygames, OSAF & The Gran Premio Latinoamericano
CyberAgent established Cygames, Inc. in 2011 as a mobile game production company. The company is known for mobile games like Rage of Bahamut, The iDOLM@STER, and Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The latter, a mobile and Steam game, features anthropomorphized versions of Japanese racehorses. The global edition of the game won the Best Mobile Game Award at the 2025 Game Awards.
Since the Japanese launch of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby game, Cygames, Inc. has entered into sponsorship agreements with various international thoroughbred racing events. These include the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, the Unbridled Sidney Stakes (Kentucky Derby), the Grand Prix de Paris, and the American Oaks. Cygames’ collaboration with the OSAF marks the company’s first venture into South America.
Based in Montevideo, Uruguay, the OSAF was founded in 1958. The association includes member clubs and organizations from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
The Asociación Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipódromos founded the Gran Premio Latinoamericano in 1981. The inaugural race took place at the Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas in Montevideo, Uruguay. Unlike all other G1 races, the Gran Premio Latinoamericano rotates its host country each year. Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela have all hosted the race. Throughout its history, the Gran Premio Latinoamericano has featured dirt and turf races.
This year’s race will be at the Hipódromo de Monterrico in Lima, Peru, on April 26.
