All 3 opening songs of the Date a Live anime series are now officially available on YouTube. Openings from all three seasons were uploaded on the official Kadokawa YouTube channel, as part of the anime’s 10th-anniversary project. The anime series will resume in April 2022 with its 4th season.
Sweet ARMS music group performed all of the opening songs of the Date a Live series. The group consists of 4 voice actors from the show:
- Iori Nomizu (Yoshino Himekawa)
- Misuzu Togashi (Origami Tobiichi)
- Kaori Sadohara (Tamae Okamine)
- Misato (Mana Takamiya).

Date a Live season 1 premiered in 2013, and had a total of 12 episodes and an OVA. AIC PLUS+ animated the first season, while Production IMS did the sequel. The second season aired in 2014, with a total of 10 episodes and another OVA. After 5 years, the franchise returned to the television in 2019 with its 3rd season, animated by J.C. Staff. Even though the franchise had a new studio for every season, Keitaro Motonaga (School Days) was the one who directed all of them.
The franchise also had an anime film in 2015 under director Motonaga, titled Date A Live Movie: Mayuri Judgment. In 2020, two movies under director Nakagawa premiered in Japanese theatres titled Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet and Date A Bullet: Nightmare or Queen. Jun Nakagawa is also directing the 4th season of the series, at studio GEEKTOYS (Date a Bullet).
Fujimi Shobo published Koshi Tachibana’s Date a Live light novel series from 2011 until 2020. The novel had a total of 22 volumes available. Yen Press licensed the light novel series in English:
April 10. The first day of school. Shido Itsuka is rudely awoken by his personal alarm clock—his little sister.
